What REKO holds, why it holds it, and what happens to it.
What is collected
From a referral: your name, contact details, country, who referred you, and what you have said about the matter. From a member: the instructions you give, the documents you upload, the messages you send, and a record of your access to the portal.
Why
To decide whether to accept a referral, to carry out a matter you have instructed, to keep a record of what was done and when, and to meet legal and regulatory obligations that apply to that work.
Who sees it
REKO staff working on your matter. Where a matter is escalated, authorised legal professionals instructed on it. Nobody else, and your information is never sold or used to market anything.
How long
For as long as the matter is live, and afterwards for the period required for legal, regulatory and evidential purposes. Referrals that are declined are kept only as long as needed to record the decision.
Your rights
You may ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, and in some circumstances ask for it to be deleted. Members can request this through the portal. Others may contact REKO directly.
Cookies
The public site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. The member portal uses a single cookie to keep you signed in, which is required for it to work.
